PrayerMap is a sacred space where people from all faith traditions come together to share prayers, support one another, and build meaningful spiritual connections. Our community spans diverse beliefs, cultures, and backgrounds, united by the universal human experience of prayer.
These Community Guidelines ensure that PrayerMap remains a safe, respectful, and spiritually nourishing environment for everyone. By using PrayerMap, you agree to follow these guidelines. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent banning.
Our Core Principles
Approach every interaction with compassion and genuine care for others. Remember that people sharing prayer requests are often going through difficult times.
Use respectful, kind language in all communications. Even in disagreement, maintain dignity and courtesy toward others.
Safeguard minors and at-risk individuals. Be mindful that your words carry weight, especially for those in crisis.
Respect the confidentiality of prayer requests. What is shared in prayer should remain private unless explicit permission is given.
Foster authentic connections. PrayerMap is about bringing people together, not dividing them.
Welcome people of all spiritual backgrounds. There is no place for proselytizing, religious superiority, or dismissing others' beliefs.
Section 1: Respect Each Other
1No Harassment or Bullying
Do not target individuals with repeated unwanted contact, insults, or intimidation. This includes coordinated attacks, brigading, or encouraging others to harass someone.
2No Hate Speech or Discrimination
Content that attacks, demeans, or incites violence against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or age is not permitted.
3No Threats of Violence
Do not threaten harm to yourself or others. This includes direct threats, indirect threats, and content that suggests or celebrates violence.
4No Doxxing or Privacy Violations
Do not share personal information about others without their consent. This includes real names, addresses, phone numbers, workplace information, or any data that could be used to identify or locate someone.
5No Sexual Content or Exploitation
Sexual content, pornography, and sexually exploitative material are strictly prohibited. This includes suggestive content and sexual solicitation.
6No Content Glorifying Self-Harm
Content that promotes, glorifies, or provides instructions for self-harm or suicide is not permitted. If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out for help.

7No Graphic Violence or Disturbing Content
Gore, graphic violence, animal cruelty, and shock content are not permitted. Prayer requests about difficult situations should be handled with sensitivity and discretion.
8Protect Minors
Any content that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits minors is strictly prohibited and will be reported to authorities. PrayerMap is an 18+ platform.
Section 2: Respect the Community
9No Spam or Flooding
Do not send bulk messages, repetitive content, or flood channels with excessive posts. Quality over quantity.
10No Impersonation
Do not impersonate other users, religious leaders, public figures, or PrayerMap staff. Parody accounts must be clearly labeled.
11No Misleading Information
Do not spread false information that could cause harm, particularly regarding health, safety, or emergency situations.
12No Manipulation of Engagement
Do not artificially inflate prayer counts, create fake accounts to boost engagement, or use automated tools to interact with content.
13No Ban or Block Evasion
If you have been banned from a group or the platform, do not create new accounts to circumvent the ban. This will result in permanent removal.
14No Abuse of Reporting System
Do not file false or frivolous reports. The reporting system exists to keep our community safe, not to harass other users.
15Respectful Prayer Practices
Prayers should be offered with genuine care and respect. Do not mock, belittle, or dismiss others' prayer requests or spiritual practices.
16Authentic Spiritual Content
Share authentic prayers and spiritual content. Do not use PrayerMap for political campaigning, commercial advertising, or non-spiritual purposes.
Section 3: Follow the Law
17No Illegal Activities
Do not use PrayerMap to plan, coordinate, or promote illegal activities.
18No Intellectual Property Violations
Respect copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property rights. Do not share content you don't have the right to distribute.
19No Financial Scams
Do not solicit money, promote fraudulent schemes, or attempt to scam other users. Prayer is not for profit.
20No Regulated Goods or Services
Do not promote or sell drugs, weapons, alcohol, or other regulated goods through PrayerMap.
Section 4: Reporting Violations
If you see content that violates these guidelines, please report it immediately. You can report:
- In the app: Tap the three-dot menu on any message, prayer, or user profile and select "Report"
- By email: support@prayermap.net
All reports are reviewed by our moderation team and treated confidentially. We will never reveal your identity to the person you reported.
Section 5: Enforcement
When violations occur, we take a graduated approach to enforcement:
- Warning: First-time minor violations may receive a warning with explanation
- Content Removal: Violating content will be removed
- Temporary Suspension: Serious or repeated violations may result in temporary account suspension
- Permanent Ban: Severe violations or continued pattern of abuse will result in permanent removal from PrayerMap
For severe violations (child safety, credible threats of violence, illegal activity), we may take immediate action including permanent banning and reporting to law enforcement.
Group-Level Enforcement
Group leaders and moderators have the authority to enforce these guidelines within their groups. This includes removing content, muting members, kicking, or banning users from the group. Group-level actions are separate from platform-level enforcement.
Appeals
If you believe an enforcement action was made in error, you may appeal by contacting appeals@prayermap.net within 30 days. Include your username, the action taken, and why you believe it was incorrect. Appeals are reviewed within 14 business days.
Section 6: Additional Information
Content Moderation Technology
PrayerMap uses automated content screening (powered by TheHive.ai) to help identify potential violations. Flagged content is reviewed by our human moderation team before action is taken.
User Blocking
You can block any user at any time. Blocked users cannot see your profile, prayers, or send you messages.
Spirit Clause
We may take action against content or behavior that violates the spirit of these guidelines, even if not explicitly covered. Our goal is to maintain a safe, supportive community for prayer.
Changes to These Guidelines
We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date and notify users through the app. Continued use of PrayerMap after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated guidelines.
